Paula is active as a choreographer, dancer and dance teacher. As a choreographer she constantly seeks to experiment and expand her movement vocabulary in order to express herself honestly and fully without being limited by genres or styles. To the trained eye the Brazilian influences are obvious and characters from Afro-Brazilian mythology are often the inspiration for Paula's works. Feelings and behavior common to all people often recur as themes in Paula's choreographies and here archetypes from mythology play a part.

Paula was educated at Escola de Dança da Fundação Cultural do Estado da Bahia, in Brazil. In parallel with her studies in choreography and dance Paula delved into traditional and contemporary Brazilian dances. As a choreographer and dancer, it is important for Paula to master techniques fully in order for her to be able to experiment with content and forms. She also dances in works by other contemporary choreographers.

Paula has worked with Brazilian dance in Sweden and around the world since the beginning of the 90s. She teaches various Brazilian dances and dances in performance groups whose repertoires include Brazilian dance, especially samba, but also samba-reggae and maracatu.
